Donovan's Marsh

This mural was painted in a nursery room, which was not yet finished at the time the mural was completed. The grassy slope at the right of the mural was painted as a backdrop for the crib so that the main characters of the mural, namely, the cattails, turtle, frog and dragonflies, would not be obstructed. To help unify the room, additional clouds and dragonflies were painted on the remaining three walls of the nursery, and the colors were selected to coordinate with the crib bedding (image 2). The mural was completed in a day.
